Today, in the tv show 'Świat się kręci’, Polish broadcaster announced that Monika Kuszyńska will represent Poland in Vienna with song 'In the name of love’
After months of rumours everything is finally clear. In the tv show – Świat się kręci, which is hosted by popular Agata Młynarska, it was revealed that Monika Kuszyńska will fly the Polish flag in Vienna.
The show included many special guests like former representatives – Donatan&Cleo (ESC 2014), Halina Frąckowiak, Marek Sierocki or Artur Orzech – a longstanding Eurovision commentator.
This is surprising choice taking into account that Monika was not rumoured at all. But who is Monika Kuszyńska? Monika started her career in a popular band – Varius Manx in 2001. The band won Baltic Song Contest in 2002. In 2003 Varius Manx took part with a song Sonny in Polish National Final. They reached the 4th place. Together with Varius Manx, Monika recorded 3 albums. In 2006 the band had a serious carcrash in which Monika was badly injured. Unfortunately, Monika has remained paralysed and forced to use the wheel chair. In 2012, Monika took part Polish Song Festival in Opole with song Ocaleni (Survivors). Monika is involved in many chairty actions. The song which she will present in Vienna is called – In the name of love (the third video) and shares this year’s them of the contest: Building bridges. The song is composed by Kuba Raczyński and Monika herself. The song was also recorded in Polish with a title Obudź się i żyj (Wake up and live).
